Virgin Garden is a Melbourne based Latin-Alternative Rock band who aims to bring groove, rhythm and adultery flavours to their listeners ears.
When and how did you get involved with music?
Back in 2013 after a night out of drinking, my friend Kedi and I decided to start a band as a joke and thought of a cheesy and lame name. This Joke ended up becoming serious and we purchased guitars and just started jamming away.
What does your creative process look like?
A couple glasses of wines and my acoustic guitar helps me write the music and lyrics. Then I show the rest of the band members and they workshop their own sections from there.
Who are your musical influences?
Arctic Monkeys, Santana, Gypsy Kings, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Doors, The Last Shadow Puppets and The Growlers.
What’s it like coming up as an artist from the west of Melbourne? What makes it different? Personally feel that there is a certain “roughness” to the way we walk, talk and live our lives. Perhaps that is translated through our music and the things we write about.
