The Pocket launches August 26 at Miscellania in Naarm!

Post-pandemic the event space in Naarm is blowing up with a new era of super creative parties, showcasing emerging talent within the underground scene. The newest contenders in the game are Kiera and Isaiah with their event, The Pocket. The Pocket showcases Naarm’s experimental rap and electronic scenes. Keen on fostering their surrounding community in these spheres, Kiera and Isaiah have curated a line-up of artists at the forefront of these respective genres to bring you The Pocket.

Ahead of The Pocket's launch, get to know the stellar line-up who will be gracing the stage at Miscellania .

Too Birds is a collaborative project of solo vocalists Teether (he/him) and Realname (he/him), and producer Mr Society (he/they). JULAI (he/they) is a rapper and stellar live performer who switches between sharp-tongued lyrical flow and melodic hooks with ease. JULAI will be performing their signature high-energy set alongside their dancers. JULAI has opened for Cakes Da Killa and Haiku Hands and performed at Midsumma Festival and Gaytimes.

Kuya Neil (he/him)is a heavyweight producer and DJ of Melbourne’s underground hip-hop scene, soundtracking the margins of rap, contemporary club and ballroom music in Australia. Kuya Neil has headlined Melbourne Music Week, played alongside Shabazz Palaces and RP Boo, and his work has been featured in Dazed Digital and Boiler Room TV.

Kiera aka Chaotiic Good (she/her)is one of the organizers of The Pocket and a DJ who serves a sparkly mix of fast paced, genre-bending pop and rap edits, vogue beats and experimental textures. She has played alongside Daine, AROHA and Donatachi.

C8 (she/they) plays a high energy selection of drumstep, bass, idm, jersey to drill. She runs the mix and event series Resonance, and is an author for Frockup who has interviewed the likes of Nina Buchanan and Pookie.
